Annual Report
 Your Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce reports a successful year ending in 2008. Income streams matched or exceeded those of the previous year, despite declining consumer confidence on the national level, and a marked slowdown in the local economy.
Our Annual Auction, chaired by Michelle Corral of Heritage Bank, continues to be the single largest fund raiser benefitting the Chamber.
Once again, Chamber members and outreach efforts raised the necessary funding for the placement, care and watering of nearly 200 individual decorative flower baskets hung throughout Shelton and other locations.
Your Chamber was in the lead once again with the maintenance and application of Shelton’s holiday light displays. Our Christmas Parade sponsored 56 floats and drew thousands of spectators to downtown holiday shopping. We also ran a series of Shop Local ads in the Shelton Journal.
This past year saw the Chamber successfully handling hundreds of inquiries for those seeking transportation and other information regarding Oysterfest.
Every year, nearly 40,000 visitors or potential new residents are assisted directly through our personal telephone presence, in-person volunteer assistance, or through brochures or other guides printed and distributed through your Chamber’s tourism information sites. This combined effort helps steer untold thousands of additional tourism dollars to Mason County.
Public events, such as Music in the Park, and our regular member-centered After Hours and Chamber Dinners help introduce new and valuable customers to our members, while allowing important business contacts and networking to occur.
